Al-Quds Open University (QOU) is a public institution that was established in 1975 to address the need for higher education among Palestinians under challenging circumstances. Unlike traditional universities, QOU uses a blended education system that combines in-person lectures with e-learning and self-study materials, making education accessible to a broader range of students, including those with geographical or time constraints. The university has numerous branches across Palestine, with the Nablus branch playing a crucial role as a starting point for the open education system in the northern West Bank. The Nablus campus, which includes a 12,000 m² building, has seen a significant increase in student enrollment since its inception, reflecting the growing demand for its flexible and accessible model of learning.
